Perseverance

Four months ago, at this very moment, I was just arriving in Singapore.  Facing uncertainty everywhere I looked.  Day 1 of what would become a great adventure.  Over the four months since I have battled to adapt to the culture and find a job.  I originally only had 90 days on my tourist pass, but was fortunate enough to have that renewed after taking a trip out of the country to Indonesia in July.  I have met a lot of new friends and have had great experiences along the way.

Now, 124 days later, I just returned my tourist pass.  Not to leave the country, but instead to claim my work pass.  I finally completed my goal of finding a job!  Today, I will be going to work for the third day!

I am now looking towards the future and am very excited for what is to come.  I already like my job and hope to excel at it and advance my career.  I look forward to working with a culturally diverse group with many different backgrounds.  I look forward to continuing my journey here.

With all that being said, I have to thank my friends, family and readers of this blog.  All of which have been very supportive and have sent me positive messages when I was at my lowest moments.  It has been an up and down journey.  I have learned more about myself in these four months then I ever thought I would when I first arrived.  I leave you with this…

Never give up!  Difficult things take a long time, impossible things a little longer.
